Why I Made This

Hi, I'm S — the person behind I Like It Deep.

This didn't start as a business plan. It started on a random night when I couldn't sleep, sitting with a notebook, trying to figure out why I kept ending up in the same painful patterns over and over — the same fights, the same shame spirals, the same old stories about myself that I never actually chose, I just inherited them. I wasn't looking to build a brand. I was just trying to survive my own head for one more night.

Writing it down — actually writing it, not just thinking about it — was the first thing that ever cracked something open. Not in a "and then everything was fixed" way. In a "okay, now I can see it, now I can breathe" way. Question by question, page by page, I started understanding myself instead of just reacting to myself.

Somewhere along the way I realized I wasn't the only one carrying this stuff. People I love were white-knuckling through addiction, grief they never got to talk about, families that left marks nobody warned them about, shame they'd never said out loud to another human being. So I kept writing — not just for me anymore, but for them. For you.

Every journal on this site started as something real. Not a template pulled from a productivity blog. These are the actual questions I wish someone had handed me on the nights I needed them most — the ones that don't let you skate by with a surface-level answer, because you and I both know surface-level was never going to get you unstuck.

These pages aren't a replacement for therapy, and they were never meant to be — I built them to sit alongside whatever support you already have, not instead of it. What I am is someone who believes you shouldn't have to have it all figured out before you're allowed to start healing. You can be a mess and still pick up a pen. You can be mid-relapse, mid-grief, mid-identity-crisis, mid-everything, and these pages will still meet you exactly where you are — no judgment, no small talk, no pretending you're fine when you're not. If you're working with a therapist, doctor, or sponsor, think of these journals as something that works alongside that relationship, not instead of it.

This site is finally live, but I want to be honest with you: I'm not writing this from some finished, healed-up version of myself looking back. I'm still in it. I'm still working through these same pages, right alongside you, one messy honest page at a time. If that sounds like your kind of deep, you're exactly who this was made for.
